“... for all the talk about children’s screen time, surprisingly little attention is paid to screen use by parents [and teachers] themselves.”
- Erika Christakis
Linda Stone has coined the phrases “continuous partial attention” and “email apnea” through her work studying technology and its effects on the humans who use that technology. In this workshop we will explore some of her findings and connect them with core competencies of teaching and parenting.
We will take stock of our own levels of attention and distraction throughout each day, and walk away with simple, concrete, and do-able actions to protect connection and relationship with the children in our lives.
